Dr. Bartłomiej M. Szyja (Bartek) specializes in computational catalysis and advanced materials science. He obtained Master of Science diploma in 2000 at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Within his PhD studies he has carried out a research on diffusion and adsorption in porous materials, and graduated in 2005. Shortly after he joined the group of Prof. Rutger van Santen as a postdoc at Eindhoven University of Technology, where his research was focused on computational analysis of zeolite synthesis. His second postdoc was at University of Münster, where he was a member of Prof. Nikos Doltsinis group, and his main research interest was mechanochemical bond activation. In 2015 he returned to his Alma Mater and obtained a habilitation degree in 2020. His research group works on multiscale modeling of the catalytic reactions, with special focus on clean energy applications.
